  • MGG EP# 25 – Epiphany! I still want my career my way!!

A couple of weeks ago, I posed the question: “What sounds better, a steady job where you are always dependent on pay increases and bonuses or working in your business, where the sky's the limit??” After looking at my vacation schedule and having been sick, without being able to take time off, for me it's 📣 “my own business!”. I crave some flexibility.

What is your why? Please share!

  • MGG EP# 24 – Chat with the founder of a political marketing agency

My guest today is Adrienne Pickett, founder of The Guerilla Politic.

Adrienne opened up The Guerrilla Politic in 2017. After graduating from the University of Michigan’s Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design, she spent more than 15 years in art direction and design, branding products, and creating viral content for some of the biggest brands in the world.
Since founding The Guerrilla Politic, she has helped more than 100 candidates with their marketing and communications and aided several PACs, non-profits, and progressive organizations so they too can achieve their goals and reach new audiences.
“My goal was to create a creative marketing agency driven by data, strategy, and a passion for advancing progressive values,” added Pickett. “We work with political candidates, nonprofits, and non-governmental organizations to raise awareness, attract supporters and make a difference in the lives of the people and communities around us.”

Adrienne shares how she has grown her team from two copywriters and a project manager to a team of 14. We talk about becoming a pro in Excel, setting pricing, co-working spaces, hate mail, helpful resources such as BUILD institute and the Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program and how she almost went back to a W2 job. All the high and lows that come with building a business.

🖌️ She’s also an accomplished artist, illustrator, and muralist putting her talents to use in SE Michigan.

  • MGG EP# 21 – Networking is paying off! 🎉

In this check-in episode, I share how things have been going. First, networking is paying off! I even had someone approach me at an event, asking if I provide importer training. We exchanged information and she booked a course within the week!

I’m not selling at the rate that I would like yet, but between networking and LinkedIn, my trade compliance business is gaining traction.

Speaking of LinkedIn, my LinkedIn Social Selling Index increased from 41 to 44 points. I’m inching along! 😊

Have you checked out your LinkedIn Social Selling Index Score?

On the real estate side, my broker has pulled me into some listings, to give me a feel of things, such as showing houses and being part of leasing out an apartment complex. It’s been exciting to learn new things!

🎙️ About this podcast: it’s work too! LOL. But I’m loving it. For the first time, I even had a marketing agency reach out to me, suggesting their client for an interview on my podcast!

I have great guests coming up for you!!!

⚠️ Overall, things changed at my full-time gig and I’m ready to go. Life is to short to be at a job all day, miserable. So I need to start being real intentional with my plans and time.

❓ What are you doing to reach your goals?

    Goals for the coming weeks:

    • Staying active on LinkedIn
    • Land my first real estate client
    • Promote my upcoming courses and travels, scheduled for June
    • Map out a plan to leave my full-time gig

  • MGG EP# 20 – First Quarter about up! How is it going?? 🤔

In this episode, I touch on a couple of things that went on these past weeks. Like, how crazy it is that the first quarter of 2022 is about to be over! Are you hitting your goals, your target numbers within your business? As the bigger companies might call it: KPIs?

I sure am not, but since we are talking about it, at least I’m aware and can kick into overdrive!

✨I had my first meeting with my real estate broker, I am so excited about starting something new!

My LinkedIn Social Selling Index increased from 39 to 41 points, which I contribute to the new connections I made while networking. I share with you how I felt about going to the dinner, leading up to the event. Our minds sure like to mess with us and our confidence! Give it a listen!

Have you checked out your LinkedIn Social Selling Index Score?

    Goals for the coming weeks:

    • Staying active on LinkedIn
    • Promote my business
    • Promoting my upcoming course, scheduled for April
